Meet Pat Tallini

In 2007, Patricia Tallini lost her five-year battle with colon cancer.

But even while fighting the disease herself, Pat was focused on something bigger than her own struggle.

During countless visits to doctors’ offices and treatment centers, she met many families who were facing not only the physical battle of cancer—but the financial one as well.

As a public school teacher, Pat was fortunate to have strong health insurance coverage. Many of the people she met were not as lucky.

And she couldn’t ignore that.

Helping Others While Fighting Herself

Even while undergoing treatment, Pat began organizing small fundraising events to help the people she had met along the way.

She hosted two early fundraisers—one at a local restaurant and another at a nearby bowling alley—with a simple goal:

Help families facing colorectal cancer who needed support the most.

She even began the process of formally incorporating a foundation to expand this mission.

Continuing Her Mission

Before she could finish building the organization herself, Pat’s health took a turn for the worse.

But the mission she started did not end there.

Her daughter, Alyssa Lavelle, carried that vision forward by founding The Pat M. Tallini Foundation in her honor.

Today, the foundation provides direct financial assistance to families navigating the overwhelming cost of colorectal cancer treatment.

Her Impact Lives On

Every fundraiser.
Every grant.
Every family we help.

It all started with Pat’s belief that no one should face cancer alone.
